The legendary new wave and rock band The B-52’s offered a press conference this afternoon (local time), and talked about how anxious they were to finally arrive in our country.

“Once we got here we felt very happy to see how many fans had gathered to welcome us” said the vocalist Kate Pierson.

“We’d love to stay here for a longer time but we’d need at least a week to get to know the country thoroughly ” she declared.

The band remarked that one of their biggest musical influences is the renowned Peruvian soprano Yma Sumac, specially her high pitched vocals.

“She was absolutely amazing and we truly got inspiration from her” said Pierson.

The band promised “a night full of trance” for their concert at the National Stadium tomorrow night.
