The Peruvian-Spanish film La teta asustada (The Milk of Sorrow), directed by Claudia Llosa, won the grand prize of the Festival ‘L’etoile de Caux’, held in France.
This festival intends to promote the Latin American cinema and culture in France.
Two of the films previewed, ‘The Milk of Sorrow’ and ‘Camara Oscura, will reach French cinemas in July.
The Grand Prix du Pays de Caux was awarded to ‘Camara Oscura’, Argentine film directed by Maria Victoria Menis, and the The Audience Award went to ‘La Purisima’, by Mexican Carlos Muñoz.
‘The Milk of Sorrow’ was the first film screened, and also closed the festival on Sunday.
