As an homage to Peru’s Flagship Drink, the Municipality of Surco, the Ministry of Production (Produce) and the National Commision for Pisco (Conapisco) are opening today at noon a big festival called “Festival Pisco Surco 2009; our fatherland, our celebration.”
The first stage of this Festival is to be held at the “Parque de la Amistad” (Park of Friendship) located in that district, starting today until July 12th, and will gather producers and distributors from all around the country.
The second stage will be held at Surco Main Square (“Plaza Mayor de Surco Pueblo”) from July 17th until 19th, The festival not only will offer for sale many varieties of the best Peruvian pisco, but also will feature musical shows and activities for children as well.
The Pisco is a liquor obtained from the distillation of grapes’ juices, according to traditional regional practices.
