Over 12,000 expats to celebrate National Holidays in Southern California


More than 12,000 Peruvians living in Southern California will gather together during a festival called "Peru comes to you", hosted by the Peruvian community and consulate in Industry City, one of the event organizers, Humberto Castrillon, announced Friday.

The Industry Hill Expo Center will be the meeting point of Peruvian immigrants who will celebrate their homeland’s Independence Day with traditional songs and dances from the country’s different regions.

The festival will be held this Sunday, July 26, from 10:00am to 8:00pm. Admission is free.

Creole singer Luis Abanto Morales as well as Marinera and Huayno dancers will perform in the festival’s second edition, which will also include typical Peruvian food served by 18 restaurants in California.

Last year, a total of 8,500 people attended this annual event. .
