Domestic and foreign entrepreneurs might invest US$ 40 billion in the next 2 years, said Pedro Olaechea, current President of the National Society of Industries (SNI).

“There are several interesting private projects to use our resources, and as entrepreneurs we can perform the same amount of investments in this period,” he said, according to El Comercio.

Peru’s President Alan Garcia reported during his annual address to the nation that that private and public investment amounted to US$ 52 billions in three years, pointing out that private investment amounted to US$ 42 billion.

Olaechea remarked, though, that “we are willing to invest only if the country is economically and politically stable, and Peru has now this condition.”
