Japan Intl Cooperation Agency to invest US $23.7 mln in Peru

The Peru’s Production Minister, Mercedes Araoz, reported that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will invest S/. 70 million soles (almost US $23.7 million dollars) in the construction of 6 new docks along the Peruvian coast.

The Minister stressed that JICA’s contribution is would finance almost 80% of the resources needed for these works.

She also announced that the Production Ministry is elaborating the technical files of the docks, including the study on environmental impact, since the authorities intend to finish this work by the end of the year.

One of the first docks to be built is located one kilometer away from the done in Pucusana, in the area called Grano de Oro (south of Lima.)
