Peru aims to position itself as honeymoon destination

Peru’s export and tourism agency Promperu said it seeks to position Peru as an ideal honeymoon destination for tourists, which is why it will participate in Italy’s TTG Incontri travel show, to be held in Rimini, Italy, on October 6-8, along with six other Peruvian companies.

Such enterprises include Peru Best Travel, Silvana Tours, Travel Group Peru, Solmartur, Domiruth Travel Service, as well as the provincial government of Huaraz (Ancash).

TTG Incontri, the country’s most important b2b international trade fair, is a three-day event that showcases the main new features of tourist operators to the market.

According to a study carry out by Promperu in 2010 on the profile of the Italian tourist, based on the information provided by the World Tourism organization (WTO), Italy ranks eight in the world ranking of travel expense on tourism abroad reaching US$27.10 billion and totaling 18’299,451 trips.

Some 54.7 percent of Italian tourists who come to the country are on vacations while 16.1 percent arrive for business meetings.

Peru’s export and tourism agency Promperu will participate in Italy’s TTG Incontri travel show, in an attempt to showcase Peru.
