The magazine's annual Readers' Choice Awards proved once again that international travelers consider Peru a top country to visit.
Why is Peru a top country to visit? Ask a local or a tourist this question and you'll hear responses that range from its gastronomy, topography and various traditional cultures. No wonder a country this rich in offerings has been ranked as one of the top countries in the world.
Each year Condé Nast Traveler, a leading luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, holds their Readers' Choice Awards. International hotels, resorts, spas, airports, cruise lines—just about every operation in the travel sector—are ranked by the magazine's readers. Perhaps the most esteemed is the overarching category, Top Countries in the World.
At the beginning of this week it was announced that Peru was listed on the esteemed collection of Top Countries in the World. Based on the responses from U.S. and U.K. readers, the Andean country was ranked sixth, neighbored by South Africa (fifth) and Greece (seventh). Indonesia took the top spot.
Numerous destinations in Peru took high-positioning spots in other categories, including Top 30 Hotels in South America (Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel) and Top 20 Resorts in South America (Tambo del Inka Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Sacred Valley). All the more reason to make Peru a top country to visit.
