Peru Country Risk Closes Without Variation By 1.37%

Peru’s country risk closed yesterday’s session at 1.37 percentage points, adjusted after the close, unchanged from the previous session, according to EMBI + Peru calculated by investment bank JP Morgan.

“Peru (1.37 percentage points) reported the lowest country risk in the region, followed by Colombia (2.12 points) and Mexico (2.32 points)”, Gestión informed, adding that this is measured based on the difference in the average yield of Peruvian sovereign bonds against the performance of the US Treasury bond.

This estimates the political risk and the possibility that a country may default on its payment obligations to international creditors, the aforementioned media said.
