The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) released their 2017-2018 report which placed Peru as the fifth most entrepreneurial country in the world and the first in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“The Peru GEM team researcher, Carlos Guerrero, said that the entrepreneurial spirit reflects the predisposition that people have to start an initiative”, RPP Noticias wrote.
According to the report, 43.2% of Peruvians are thinking about starting a new business within three years, which represents a 6% expansion compared to the GEM 2011 Global Report.
“GEM team researcher, Peru, Jessica Alzamora, said that Peruvians are very convinced of their ability to create and develop a business successfully”, the aforementioned website explained. “The adverse conditions experienced by Peru for many years have prepared entrepreneurs to be risky, perseverant, creative, committed and optimistic for the future, she adds”, they continued.
