The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in its 2019 ranking highlights Peru as one of the countries with the greatest intention to start a business in Latin America and the world.
According to this indicator, the Peruvian economy occupies the fourth position in the region with 40% of the population willing to start a business in the next 3 years, América Economía wrote.
“Peru is preceded only by Guatemala, Colombia and Chile, who lead the Latin American ranking with about 50% of its population interested in entrepreneurship”, the aforementioned media said. Globally, Peru is in eighth place.
The result of the 2019 indicator represents an improvement over the 2017-2018 study in which Peru was the fifth country in the region with the greatest intention to start a business.
“Another result that stands out from this study is the favorable perception that Peruvians have about their abilities to launch an entrepreneurial initiative and face the risks that this entails. 72% of Peruvians feel that they are prepared to be an entrepreneur”, said América Economía.
