Peru national soccer team climbs on FIFA ranking

The Peruvian national soccer team climbed 14 spots on FIFA’s world ranking, after playing two World Cup qualifying matches last month.

The recent increase places Peru 37th on the list, with 681 points.

Peru’s climb comes weeks after the national team beat Venezuela 2-1, and tied 1-1 with Argentina, in Lima.

Spain remained on top of the ranking with 1611 points, followed by Germany, Portugal, Argentina, and England.

Last month Peru dropped 5 spots on the list.

The national team is currently 7th on the South American World Cup qualifying ranking, ahead of Bolivia and Paraguay.
