Peru’s national soccer team climbed 9 spots on the FIFA World Ranking this month.
>The red-and-white climbed to the thirty-second spot in April, one month after >dropping two spots on the ranking. The Peruvian squad is just behind Nigeria, and ahead of Hungary.
Top the three are still unchanged, with Spain leading the chart, followed by Germany and Argentina. Meanwhile Croatia climbed 5 spots on the ranking, and is now fourth on the list, followed by Portugal, in fifth place and Colombia in sixth place.
>Peru’s new ranking comes after the red-and-white >beat Chile 1-0, during round 11 of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
Peru is ranked seventh regionally, with 752 points, just behind Chile (870 points), and ahead of Venezuela (708).
Peru’s next match will be on June 7, when the red-and-white faces Ecuador in Lima.
