Peruvian Prime Minister Juan Jimenez said Wednesday the government was preparing to make the necessary reforms in order to receive a “flood” of investments in 2013.

Jimenez said the government would soon launch a restructuring process, which would reduce the steps required in order to implement investment projects, state news agency Andina reported.

"We must prepare the country for a flood of investment next year," Jimenez was quoted as saying.

“This will involve all the regional governments, we need a much more prepared country for the increased resources that will be allocated in the 2013 budget,” the prime minister said.

Next year the government, he said, will launch a $40 million project to enhance the capabilities of the country’s regional governments.

Furthermore, Finance Minister Luis Miguel Castilla said the government would promote a policy focused on modernizing and “reengineering” the state, in order to reduce bottlenecks that impede the implementation of projects.
