Peru volley team conquers Argentina, 3-2


On Thursday, in the women’s Sub-20 Final Four, Peru’s national team walked away victorious with a 3-2 win against Argentina. It was the debut game for Peru in the Gatorade Cup, an international volleyball tournament hosted by Lima at the Eduardo Dibos Coliseum.

Friday Peru will face Cuba, followed by a match up against the Dominican Republic on Saturday.

The Gatorade Cup will be the final tournament of the year for the sextet. They will finish out the games under the guidance of Martin Escudero, the assistant to Natalia Málaga.

“Our team just achieved important goals like the qualification to the U20 World Championship in Colombia, so now we will continue working to improve…and above all to give Peru the chance to enjoy a big sport festival, says Escudero, as quoted on the International Federation of Volleyball website.

On October 13 it had been reported that Málaga would be unable to continue the season coaching, citing stress and exhaustion the absence of Málaga the young women score a victory.
