Peru’s Humala meets with King Abdullah during ASPA summit

 On Monday morning President Humala met with Jordanian King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein, who arrived in Peru to participate in the 3rd Summit of South American and Arab Countries (ASPA).

According to state news agency Andina, King Abdullah was received by Peru’s Defense Minister Pedro Cateriano, and met with President Humala for just over 30 minutes, at the Government Palace.

Trade between Peru and Jordan totaled $1.5 million last year, according to Andina.

Earlier in the week King Abdullah traveled to Cusco, where he visited the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. The Jordanian king also traveled to Nazca,

The summit – which has brought together 22 Arab countries and 12 South American nations, as well as 2,000 visitors – was inaugurated on Monday.
