The route of the Andean baroque in NYFW: Sergio Dávila’s latest collection.
Art has always been a huge influence in fashion. From classic oil-paintings to contemporary abstract sculptures, the different concepts developed by artists are a rich source for keeping designers inspired.
This time, the Peruvian designer Sergio Dávila brought to Soho, NY his Spring/Summer ‘18 “Baroque Route” collection.
This creative adventure started when Sergio decided to travel the “Baroque Route” around Andean cities of Peru. The beauty of this classic art was the beginning of his collaboration between the old and the trendy.
He visited the different churches that are part of this route but felt especially touched by the one considered as the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes”.
The angels, archangels, and virgins that are characteristic elements of this art were reinvented to suit the artistic vision of the designer.
In the pieces, we find ready to wear designs with a comfortable fit for men and women made in Pima cotton. Additionally, this collection is designed for an international jet-setter. Someone who appreciates the beauty of classic art but has an eye on the latest trends and never goes out of style.
Where can we find this collection?
“Baroque Route” is now available in stores in Chile, Brazil, Peru and soon in NY.
