Peru’s young people were ranked at number 12 of the 30 countries that made the list, above other Latin American countries.
Researchers from International Youth Foundation, Center for Strategic and International Studies, and Hilton Worldwide teamed up to find the happiest young people in the world.
“It’s not about the 30 best countries in the world, but rather the places that the scholars decided to consult,” said Business Insider.
The Youth Well-Being Index, which includes 70% of the world’s young people, places Peru at number 12, ahead of the other Latin American countries on the list.
Other Latin American countries listed were Colombia, immediately following Peru at 13, Brazil at 15, and Mexico at 16.
Researchers analyzed a total of 40 indicators to evaluate the citizen participation, economic opportunities, education, health, technology of information and communication, and security and protection of people of 12 to 24 years.
