Once again, Peruvian sailing champion Angello Giuria takes 1st place in the Sunfish competition in New Jersey, USA.

Peruvian Angello Giuria stayed true to course in the Junior Sunfish sailboat races this past week and came in 1st place in the final standings. Trailing him were Ignacio Antequera of Spain and Celemente Sequel of Chile in 2nd and 3rd place.

Angello Giuria defends his Sunfish Youth Champion title which he first earned in Cartagena, Colombia in 2016. This year’s event takes place at the Brant Beach Yacht Club in New Jersey, USA.

Peruvians also took 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th place, meaning that exactly half of the top 10 racers hail from the Inca country. Their names are Alejandro Mago, Miranda Paz, Adrianna Barron, and Santiago Canziani, respectively.

Sail World reports that competitors have gathered for the World Championship main event that begins today, August 28. With the Junior category dominated by Peru, it remains to be seen who will take the upper league prize.
