On Monday night a group of Peruvian hackers shut down two websites that belong to Chile’s army, Peru21 reported.
The websites, Ejercito.cl and Escueladesuboficiales.cl, were temporarily taken down, the daily said.
Lulz Security Peru, a group of self-described hackers, claimed responsibility of the attack, through their official Facebook and Twitter sites.
“We clarify that the attack on the Chilean army is not centered against the Chilean people, or against anyone,” the group said on Twitter.
According to Chile’s La Tercera, the group had previously attacked websites belonging to Argentina and Venezuela’s governments, as well as the Peruvian army’s website.
