Pluspetrol pays more than US $60 million on royalties in May

Pluspetrol Peru Corporation, which leads Camisea Consortium, announced that royalties paid to the Peruvian state on the Camisea gas exploitaiton activities reached more than US $60 million in May.

Those resources are distributed according to the Peruvian laws, and 50% goes to Cusco’s Regional government and local (municipal) governments, that is, some US $30 million.

Pluspetrol also reported that at present, 2010 royalties on Camisea project total US $302 million.

Since the start of the project, in 2004, Camisea has paid an accumulated total of US $1.97 billion.
