Preview: Copa America Centenario Final

One month after its start, two teams, Argentina and Chile, remain to fight for the Copa America Centenario title.

The game is this Sunday at 8 p.m. at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

What started as a 16-team tournament proved to be a thriller and after a number of nail biting matches, it’s clear which are the two best teams.

Argentina and Chile started out in the same group, in fact, they faced each other in their first match – Argentina won 2-1.

After carving different paths through the tournament, each team seems to have hit their stride.

Argentina won every match in group play and frankly they looked destined for the championship from the start.

The _Albicelestes_ won both their quarterfinal and semifinal matches with ease, knocking of Venezuela and the United States.

Chile began the tournament in less convincing, making it to the quarterfinals by the skin of their teeth and then being labeled underdogs against Mexico.

Doubters couldn’t have been more wrong.

Chile trounced Mexico 7-0 before comfortably defeating Colombia in the semifinals.

The final isn’t short of star power as both teams’ stars have stepped up in a big way throughout the tournament.

For Argentinian Manager Gerardo Martino’s side, Gonzalo Higuain, Javier Mascherano, Éver Banega, and Lionel Messi have been huge – the latter has been nothing short of sensational.

For La Roja Claudio Bravo, Arturo Vidal, Eduardo Vargas, and Alexis Sanchez have all been impressive.

As if this game wasn’t exciting enough, it is a rematch of last year’s final, which Chile won in penalties last year.

Two neighboring rivals, two strong sides, a number of superstars, and the best player on the planet give you every reason to tune into the game.

Clear your schedule for Sunday evening, turn on the game, prepare to have your eyes glued to the screen, and get ready for your jaw to hit the floor.
