Before 2018 Plaza Center wants to open new shopping centers in Ilo and Tarapoto on December 7 and 14, respectively, and by 2019 also in Puente Piedra in North Lima.
“The retail sector grows in Peru. InRetail is betting on a new shopping center format, which they have dubbed the Plaza Center”, said Perú Retail.
Some of the main services Plaza Center is offering is directed towards convenience and entertainment with an investment of $14 million US dollars.
“In an exclusive conversation with Perú Retail, Misael Shimizu, real estate corporate vice-president of Intercorp Retail, said that these are areas where there is commercial dynamism as well as significant economic growth”, explained the aforementioned media.
The mall in Ilo will have a Plaza Vea, a cinema and a food court, and it will cover a space of 20,000 square meters.
“Ilo allows us to consolidate in the south of the country. We already have operations in Arequipa, Tacna and Moquegua and with this new opening we would be consolidating in the south of Peru,” Shimizu said.
As for Plaza Center in Tarapoto, it has an area of 15,000 square meters and will also house a Plaza Vea, Promart and other stores that will offer entertainment and different services.
In addition, there are nearby cities such as Yurimaguas, Rioja and Moyobamba, which have strong commercial potential for future investments, according to Shimizu.
