This reserve is located south of Madre de Dios River, within Tambopata and Inambari districts of Tambopata province and it was created on September 4, 2000, by a supreme decree.
“The presence of this important protected natural space generates conservation processes to secure the sustainable use of natural resources and the landscape”, according to Andina News Agency.
In addition, the reserve is located next to the Bahuaja Sonene National Park and other natural protected areas, such as The Amarakaeri Communal Reserve, and the Alto Purus, and Manu national parks.
“The Tambopata National Reserve contains mainly aquatic habitats that are home to more than 40 species of transcontinental migratory birds”, Andina wrote in an article published a few days ago. This region is also a destination for tourists who want to have a close experience with the wildlife and natural diversity of Peru.
