Three Mexican citizens detained for drug-trafficking at Peru airport

Three Mexican citizens were arrested on Wednesday, after trying to smuggle 16 kilos of cocaine through Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport, Peru21 reported.

According to the daily, three women were found carrying small packets of cocaine, strapped to their body at Peru’s main airport. Each of them had close to 50 packets on cocaine on their person, at the time of the arrest.

The women were identified as Roció Ramírez Dávila, 20, Yuridia Pérez Jerónimo, 26, and María Magdalena Trejo Ruiz, 28, who was traveling with her son, El Comercio said.

>Peruvian airport agents noticed the women acting suspiciously and nervously, leading them to detain the three women.

Late last month police announced they had uncovered close to >120 kilograms of cocaine, destined for Turkey and Germany.
