Fashion photographer points lens at Peru’s Asia Beach

By Marco Bollinger

I’d heard about Asia Beach in Peru from many of my friends, that it was the place to be for the summer if you had the means, but I had yet to experience it myself. The relatively new beach destination one hour south of Lima has become something of legend over the last couple years as Lima’s rich and famous scramble to get a hold of a summer rental in what people are calling the Malibu beach of Lima.

With it’s high end clientele, famous summer weekend house parties, resort style beach amenities, and enough modern architectual design to make even Dwell Magazine shout, Peru has produced a first class beach town community without the usual tacky tourist resorts all over the place. Although the Limeños know Asia beach well, I would consider it one of the best kept travel secrets in south America.
