The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (Senamhi) reported that for this winter the coastal areas of the central and southern areas of the country, as well as the city of Lima, will begin to present air temperatures from normal to slightly cold because of the winter season, which started on Friday.
“Specialists from Senamhi explained that for capital Lima, air temperatures are expected around 19° C and 14° C on average, and days and nights colder than usual accompanied by high humidity values (around 97%), as part of the season”, El Comercio said.
Also, night temperatures will be lower than normal in the southern coastal areas and the southwestern sierra.
“Finally, the typical extreme events of winter such as frost (temperatures below 0° C), and snowfall would affect the eventual temperatures drops”, the aforementioned website said.
