World | 5 September, 2006 [ 13:36 ]Garcia names Felipe Ortiz de Zevallos as Peru's next ambassador to the USA

Peru's president Alan Garcia Perez officially presented economist Felipe Ortiz de Zevallos as Peru's ambassador to the United States.
Garcia said that within the next days Ortiz de Zevallos will give his credentials to U.S. president George W. Bush.
“We are sure that Felipe Ortiz de Zevallos will fulfill his new diplomatic task with competence. His knowledge of the social and political structure of the United States are exceptional”, Garcia praised.
The President met with Ortiz de Zevallos and Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde this morning. Earlier he talked in private with Hernando de Soto, his personal representative Peru-USA Free-Trade negotiations.
Ortiz de Zevallos is the founder and current Chairman of Grupo Apoyo, a Peruvian consulting, publishing and polling organization.
