With the aim of promoting more and more medical knowledge and discussing the main challenges of the fight against cancer in the world, the VII International Symposium “Expanding access to personalized medicine in cancer and other chronic diseases”, will be held in Lima, organized by Oncosalud.

The presence of the researcher Peter Boyle, a leading epidemiologist, cancer prevention expert and founding president of the International Prevention Research Institute, based in Lyon, France, has been confirmed for the symposium.

“Boyle’s specific field of work is prevention research. He has contributed in the fight against lung cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer, among others”, said La República.

Boyle is an advocate for cancer prevention and has published more than 500 articles in scientific journals, co-authored some 23 books, including textbooks and cancer atlases, the aforementioned media said.

Also attending will be representatives from America, Europe and Asia.

“This year the event will be focused on the debate on new challenges in cancer treatments and medicines, because its high cost does not allow more people to reach the latest developments in this field”, Dr. Alfredo Aguilar, Scientific and Academic Director of Oncosalud – AUNA told the media.

The event will take place on November 28 and 29 at the Hilton Hotel, located in Miraflores, where the participation of more than 500 people from all over the world is estimated.
