The Municipality of San Isidro will initiate summer courses and workshops for children, in areas such as journalism, bio-gardens, and animal care.
The workshops are called My First Newspaper, for children between 10 and 14 years old, Diverti Huertos, from 9 to 15 years old, and the Mini Veterinarians workshop from past years, ages 8 to 13 years old, will continue.
In the workshop of Diverti Huertos, children will learn to plant and care for different types of vegetables. It will be replicated four times throughout January and February, in various parts of the district, the first will be held on Friday, January 19 from 3 p. m. to 5 p. m. in the Residencial Santa Cruz.
Children can also learn important aspects of journalism through the workshop My First Newspaper, which will allow them to define and communicate the most important news of their environment. They will also learn to function as reporters, cameramen and news program presenters. This workshop will begin on January 8 and its schedule is from 10 a. m. to 12:30 p. m. until the last week of February.
The complementary part of the course of Mini Veterinarians will also be dictated, which objective is to provide guidance about the upbringing and pet care and, above all, the duties of the owners when they walk through the streets of the district.
The classes are theoretical-practical, will be given twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3 p. m. to 5 p. m., starting January 9, in the facilities of the Neighborhood Meeting Center in the Residencial Santa Cruz.
The cost of registration for the Mini Veterinarians workshop is 20 soles, that of My First Newspaper 340 soles per month, while that of Diverti Huertos is for free. For any information, call 513 9000.
