Peru is invading Chile through gastronomy, says Gastón Acurio

The Peruvian cook and businessman Gastón Acurio said that “Peru is invading Chile through gastronomy,” because the most expensive and successful restaurants in that country are the ones dedicated to Peruvian food.

Not only this; he said to RPP Noticias that in Chilean supermarkets there's usually a special section for Peruvian ingredients.

“Chilean households eat Causa Limeña on Mondays, Papa a la Huancaína on Wednesdays and Ají de Gallina on Fridays,” said Acurio.

In addition, Acurio reported that the I International Gastronomic Fair “Mixtura” will take place from September 24th to 27th at “Parque de la Reserva” in Lima.

“This year we will have food, workshops and even films,” he added.

Hey why don´t you get with Gaston and promote clean safe food everyone can eat !!!

It would be nice to visit one of these places and not spend the next week in the bathroom.

It is good really.
On the other hand, when we will start to export electronic chips, computers, cars, etc?
Why we should be happy of just exporting raw materials, like copper, gold, fishing meal, fruits, etc.
Do you know how many fishing meal(harina de pescado) kilos we must sell ,in order to buy ONLY just one mobile phone imported from Taiwan?
At least 500 kgr....well depend of type of mobile phone :-)
In the world, people says...Oh Peru is nice, is pretty....ha ha..Only as far as we continue selling raw materials.

Pedro Villena, really what a nasty and inappropriate comment! Who knows where you ate! What Gaston states is a sustained fact, Peruvian restaurants in Chile, not only in Santiago, are of the best, and Peruvian goods faces an increasing demand in Chilean markets, as anywhere around eh world. If you’re a Peruvian feel proud, if not, just learn how to handle your envy!!!.

This food in Peru and Chile sucks.
You could put a Dennys across the street and take all of his business.
What Peru needs is competition and then you will see Quality...
