Since the beginning of the year 80 contracts have been signed using this electronic method.

It is now possible to sign a contract in Peru without needing to accumulate papers, or moving from one place to another thanks to the Electronic ID (e-ID).

Andina News Agency wrote that on April 4 a demonstration was given by the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec) and the Army of Peru by digitally signing a contract for the provision of digital certification services.

“In a matter of minutes, the head of the Reniec, Jorge Luis Yrrivarren and the general commander of the Army, General César Augusto Astudillo, signed from their respective computers and using their electronic ID, the contract in question.”, they explained.

Yrrivaren told Andina that since the beginning of the year 80 contracts have been signed using this method and now the country knows it is a possibility for anyone who is interested in using it.

On his part, Astudillo said that “thanks to this technology, the concept of ‘zero paper’ that we were looking for a long time ago will be possible, we can be virtually anywhere and sign papers without having to move, I feel that this will help us a lot to change our mental schemes.”
