Peru wants to boost infrastructure projects in the country in 2021, this includes construction of transport, health, education and defense by increasing public spending in a period of two years.
“The government, which plans to increase public investment by 4.5% this year, hopes to award $2.05 billion US dollars in public-private partnership concessions (PPPs) and 700mn soles ($215 million US dollars) in tax swap projects known as obras por impuestos in 2019”, cabinet chief Salvador del Solar said to congress, according to BN Americas.
One of the government’s plan is to have 90% of the country’s roads paved by 2021.
“Peru’s economy is expected to top last year’s 4% GDP growth”, the aforementioned media said, adding that the country also wants to boost annual exports to a record of $60 billion US dollars by 2021 and to bring poverty down to 18%.
