The Peruvian government invited 100 countries, including Cuba, China, Russia and Turkey, to participate in an international summit on the Venezuelan crisis in Lima on August 6.
This was informed by Peruvian Foreign Minister Nestor Popolizio last Wednesday, according to Cooperativa.
“It will be a very broad meeting,” Popolizio said at a meeting with the foreign press accredited in Lima, in which he explained that the intention is to talk about “the best way to recover democracy in Venezuela” and examine the impact generated by the massive migration from that country to neighboring nations.
Popolizio also said that the purpose of this meeting is to “sit down” and talk about what is happening in Venezuela.
Popolizio emphasized that the meeting has been designed to “dialogue, converse and establish a point of convergence”, Cooperativa wrote. Also, no representatives of the Maduro regime or of the opposition leader Juan Guaidó have been invited to the meeting to be held in August.
