The Peruvian team at Dakar 2010, led by Fernando Ferrand del Busto (65 años) and Fernando Ferrand Malatesta (38)
finished the rally raid 15 days after the departure.
The rally, that was celebrated this year in South America (in Argentina and Chile) is known as the hardest and most difficult of its kind, and many teams with budgets significantly higher than the Peruvian one were not able to reach the finish line.
Driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser, the Peruvians ended up in the 47th position out of 57 competitors that finished the more than 9,000 km rally, while other 75 teams gave up and could not finish the race.
“This is a very important result that puts Peru in the maps of off road competitions,” said Roberto Argandoña, from a local specialized magazine.
