Marko Carrillo won a new medal fro Peru in the 2019 Pan American Games. It’s bronze in Shooting in the 25 m modality with Quick Pistol. This means that at this moment, Peru has a total of 12 medals so far.
As for other countries and sports, Canada took third place from Brazil on Thursday on the number of medals won, according to Depor. The United States remains first with 85 medals, 36 of them gold. Mexico is still second with 53 medals.
As for surfing, where Peru was expected to win many prizes, Alonso Correa lost to the Argentine Leandro Usuna. However, “he demonstrated Peruvian power after recovering after a first bad wave”, Depor informed.
The games will take place until August 11. They began on July 26 and 596 athletes from Peru are participating in different sports, most of them in swimming.
The United States is the country with more medals in the history of the Pan American Games, which began in 1951, and it seems as if the country will result once more the biggest winner on this edition.
