Hot chocolate in Peru is taken at any time of the year and sales have risen up to 70 million tablets this in November and December of this year.
“From the different campaigns we have carried out so that chocolate is taken at any time of the year, we have managed to increase sales in months other than November and December”, said Lizbel González, marketing manager of Incasur (Sun of Cusco).
Only in December, 70% of the chocolate bar yearly production has been sold, according to information from Gestión, and Lima is the city that heads sales, followed by Juliaca, Puno and Cusco.
As for the most preferred brand, Sun of Cusco is people’s favorite, said Gestión.
“In the Christmas season what are sold the most are the tablets but during the course of the year instant chocolate is what families demand the most,” González informed, adding that the company she represents increased their sales this year in 25% and 30%, when it usually is 15% to 20% on Christmas season.
