Throughout the day, the arrival of dignitaries to Lima is expected to take place.
Tomorrow will begin the activities related to the VIII Summit of the Americas and today nine Presidents and Heads of State will be arriving in Lima to participate.
The Andina News Agency said that “the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, will arrive in Peru at 12:40 hours in the Group 8 of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP), while the Prime Minister of Jamaica will do the same at 16:45, according to the preliminary information.”
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau will be arriving at 6.55 pm, and the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, at 8:00 pm.
As for the Presidents of Costa Rica and Haiti, Luis Guillermo Solís and Jovenel Moise, respectively, will arrive at 8:25 pm and 8:45 pm, said the news agency. Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, will be landing on Peruvian grounds at 10:00 pm tonight.
“The arrival of the President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, and of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela is also scheduled.”, said Andina.
Today the activities of the summit will continue in Lima with the III Business Summit of the Americas, the V Youth Forum, and the III Meeting of the Open Parliament Network.
Several streets in Lima will remain closed to ensure the safety of the dignitaries, and Friday and Saturday have been declared as non-working holidays in Metropolitan Lima and Callao.
