(LIP-wb) -- The Museum for Ethnology, the ‘Völkerkundemuseum’ in Hamburg, Germany, currently presents a spectacular journey into the Inca Empire. In two separate exhibitions titled "Treasures of the Andes" (in German: Schätze der Anden) and "The Curse of Gold - 1000 Years of Inca Gold" (Der Fluch des Goldes - 1000 Jahre Inkagold) the museum gives visitors a glimpse into the lives of the pre-Spanish coast- and highland cultures.
The new permanent exhibition presents more than 1000 pieces from more than 4000 years of cultural history from the Andes, including century old garments, mysterious knittings and clay jars with portraits depicting rulers of the Inca Empire.
The highlight of the exhibition, which will last until June 24th, 2007, are treasures provided by Lima's
Museo Oro del Perú (Gold Museum) which belong to Peru's national cultural heritage.
