Decision Made on Fujimori's Extradition to Peru by Chile's Supreme Court

(LIP-ir) -- Andina, Peru's official government news agency, reported this morning that according to Chile's Supreme Court Communications Directorate, a ruling on Fujimori's extradition to Peru would be given by the court tomorrow, Friday.

"Minister Alberto Chaigneau informed me that a ruling on Mr. Fujimori's case would be given to the public tomorrow morning," stated Cristhian Fuenzalida, the Communications Director.

According to Andina News Agency, a decision on the extradition of Peru's former President Alberto Fujimori for human rights violations was made last week, but has not been divulged yet.

The judicial spokesperson stated that the file, which is 200 pages long, had to be checked throughout today because, according to him, it had to be "perfect to be given for public opinion." In addition, Fuenzalida explained that the five justices would be making last minute corrections throughout the day.

"Tomorrow there is the slight possibility that corrections will continue to be made. But according to what I have been told, a ruling will be given tomorrow morning," stated Fuenzalida.

Moreover, Fuenzalida explained that the process had been relatively fast and that it needed to be understood that the ruling was a group effort and each member of the group must express an opinion.
