Mysterious Metal Spheres Found in Puno Could Be of Russian or Ukrainian Origin

On January 27 four metal spheres fell from the sky in the southern Andean region of Puno, and according to the first investigations, they were believed to be of Russian or Ukrainian origin, said ABC.

The spheres, three of medium size and another smaller one, fell in a rural area more than 1,300 kilometers south of Lima and bordering Bolivia, as reported by the researcher of the Directorate of Astrophysics of Conida, Walter Guevara”, wrote ABC, adding that at first they were thought to be part of a spaceship or satellite.

Guevara also confirmed that a fifth sphere was recently located in Puno and will be taken soon to Lima. He explained to ABC that when the institution in which he works received information about the objects they activated the protocol for these cases and asked the regional government of Puno to ask the police to surround the area.

According to the astrophysicist, after determining the coordinates of the impact site, they collected the spheres with the help of the Police and transported them to Lima, where they remain in custody today.
So far, no country has indicated that the spheres are theirs. One of them, said Guevara, has Cyrillic characters in its surface, “which suggests that they might be of Russian or Ukrainian origin”, ABC says.

“We have asked for support, through the chancellery, to the Russian embassy to be able to investigate the origin of these artifacts,” Guevara concluded.
