This May, pioneer of Peruvian cooking Martin Morales will launch London’s first Peruvian bakery in Notting Hill.

A press release informed that the business will be called Andina Panadería and will be alongside the new restaurant Andina Picantería at 155 Westbourne Grove.

The bakery and picantería pay homage to female Andean chefs that have inspired Morales and his team on their culinary work.

“Led by Head Pastry Chef Ana Velasquez, Andina Panadería will specialize in slow-ferment baking with traditional sweet and savory pastries and breads alongside hot dishes, lunchtime salads and all-day brunch-style dishes to eat in or take away.”, the press release informs.

The Andina Picantería will be headed by chef Luca Depalo. This restaurant will be an ode to the Peruvian picanterías with a menu that comprises small plates, such as the Sivinche, which is an ancient take on ceviche.

“Echoing the traditional picantería, the space will have an open kitchen lined with rough granite stone surfaces and a home-style chef’s table putting the chefs in the limelight.”, describes the press release.

Martin Morales is the chef, restaurateur and founder of the Peruvian restaurants Ceviche Soho, Andina in Shoreditch, and Ceviche Old St. He is considered a leading figure of Peruvian food in Britain and has won awards such as the GQ Food & Drinks 2017 Innovator of the Year Award.
