Fairs Mobilized $5.6 Billion US Dollars In Peru In 2018

The fairs held in Peru in 2018 mobilized $5.6 billion US dollars in transactions and investments, informed the Association of Fairs of Peru (AFEP).

In addition, the fairs generated more than 30,000 direct jobs and were visited by 1.8 million people, according to the Andina news agency, said Gestión.

“In 2016 we did a survey among the main fairs and we were able to know that this industry mobilized $5,292,000 US dollars, which and represent 2.65% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)”, said the President of AFEP, Luisa Mesones. “Now it has risen to $5.6 billion and represents 2.84% of GDP”, she continued.

Of this amount, at least $5 billion US dollars were traded in the main 40 fairs organized nationwide, according to information from Gestión.
