Pink Dolphin Gives Birth To Calf In Louisiana

Pink dolphins can be found in Peru and they are almost extinct in the world. However, a few weeks ago, a calf was born in the Calcasiey River, Louisiana, United States.

This baby dolphins mother is called Pinky and her rare skin tone comes from a genetic mutation.

“The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) listed river dolphins as endangered. Its population is decreasing”, said the Healthy Food House website.

According to the captain that spotted Pinky and her baby, the newborn is pink from head to toe, has red eyes and its skin is smooth and glossy.

“Pinky isn’t affected by the environment or sunlight but sure likes to remain below the surface more than other animals”, the aforementioned website explained. “She’s an incredible mammal that brings joy to locals, and guests love seeing such a wonderful mammal”, they continued.
