Sinfonía Por El Peru Wins Premio Excelentia 2019 In Spain

On June 6 the project Sinfonía por el Peru, led by tenor Juan Diego Flórez received the Premio Excelentia 2019 award in Spain, among other musicians and artists.

In its 5th edition, the Excelentia Awards for Culture were held on June 6 in the Symphony Hall of the National Auditorium in Madrid. Alongside Sinfonía por el Peru other awards were given to tenor Pedro Lavirgen, pianist Yoav Levanon and the Compañía Nacional de Danza de España.

The event took place under the honorary presence of Queen Sophia of Spain and was followed by a concert entitled “The magical night of opera and zarzuela” (La Noche mágica de la ópera y la zarzuela), with a selection of large fragments of operas by Verdi, Donizetti, Mozart and Puccini, according to Exitosa.

Sinfonía por el Peru is a project promoted by the Juan Diego Flórez Foundation, through which they seek to improve through music the lives of thousands of children in Peru who live at risk.
