More Than 250 Supermarkets In Costa Rica Banned Plastic Bags

Share

Supermarket chains in Costa Rica eliminated plastic bags as an option for shoppers with the goal of impacting positively the environment.

To achieve the objective, Costa Rica launched the #SinBolsasPorFavor campaign “with the aim of raising awareness among customers about the repercussions of the use of plastic and the importance of recycling”, La República explained.

The idea is that, when making purchases, each customer brings their own bags, or they can buy one of the cloth bags sold by supermarkets or use cardboard boxes.
