A delegation of the European Union made an official visit to Loreto, and recalled that they have invested so far more than 50 million Euros in the Amazonian regions of Peru.

As El Peruano informed, the European Union is committed to the management of sustainable production chains, the conservation of native species, the use of natural resources, the empowerment of indigenous peoples, the frontal fight against drug trafficking and organized crime, and a serious bet on social inclusion.

“In this regard, it was specified that the European Union promotes the strengthening of the value chains of cocoa, fish farming and fishing, which ensures the conservation of species and the proper use of natural resources”, El Peruano wrote.

This project, called Inpandes, helps socioeconomic development for the communities of the area of direct influence of the Napo-Amazon River. A total of 1.4 million Euros have already been invested and more than 10,000 families have benefited so far.
