Remittances sent to Peru from abroad increased by 5% in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2017, totaling $823 million US dollars.

The information was made public by the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) in a statement posted on its website, according to Sputnik News.

“The BCR said that in the third quarter of last year remittances from abroad totaled 784 million dollars”, the aforementioned media said. “On the other hand, the monetary authority said that the amount of the third quarter of this year is 1.9% higher than that registered in the second quarter (April to June)”, they continued.

So far this year, the total remittances amount to $2,408 million US dollars. In 2017 the total amounted to $ 3,051 million US dollars.
