A year and a half ago, Pikimachay was born, and with it the first brand from the Ayacucho region in Peru.
“We want the Ayacucho brand to be the guiding thread to highlight the differentiated attributes of this land, its music, its dances, its history because we cannot forget that these lands were the cradle of the powerful Huari empire and the scene of the battle of the independence,” said Carlos Añaños, promoter of this initiative.
According to El Peruano, Ayacucho is the land of renowned popular artists, such as Joaquín López Antay. They are also currently working with the Ministry of Culture to be recognized as a Unesco world heritage.
Ayacucho also wants to achieve the status of “intelligent city”. For this they have worked in creating an inventory of the 45 kilometers of the city’s historical center, of which 500,000 pieces have already been registered, “that is, the windows of each house, of what material they are made, as well as the doors and facades, if they are made of wood, plaster, stone, brick, etc.”, wrote El Peruano.
