Peru and Switzerland will work together in the acceleration of actions against climate change through the implementation of pilot projects on energy and solid waste management.
“This time, both States join efforts to identify possible partnerships for the implementation of pilot projects in the energy and solid waste sectors, within the framework of the meeting ‘Formal dialogue between Peru and Switzerland on cooperative approaches to the Paris Agreement’, Held in Lima, on October 30 and 31”, explained Exitosa Noticias.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Economy and Finance; Energy and Mines; and Environment, as well as a delegation of representatives of the Swiss government, led by the Swiss ambassador to the country, Markus-Alexander Antonietti; and the deputy head of the Section of the Federal Office of the Environment, Veronika Elgart.
The Deputy Minister of Strategic Development of Natural Resources of the Ministry of the Environment, Lucía Ruíz, highlighted the cooperation between both countries that are committed to accelerating their climate action. In that sense, she highlighted Peru's international positioning to confront and take advantage of the opportunities of climate change. "For which we are working in an articulated and multisectoral manner in order to ensure low carbon development and climate resilience," she said according to the aforementioned media.
